EDMnotch.com adds edm notches to your custom NDT calibration blocks. Your pre-machined calibration blocks get edm notches according to your specifications or standards such as ASTM, ASME, AWS. Do you need your cal blocks edm-ed fast? Want to know more? Contact us to see what we can do for you.
Need ‘traceability according to NIST’? No problem: if you want you will get a traceable measuring report of the edm notches. Our measuring reports are traceable to national standards like:
EDMnotch.com is based in the Netherlands and ships worldwide with well-known carriers such as DHL and UPS. Contact us for more information or a quotation for machining edm notches into your NDT calibration blocks.

EDM notches in all shapes and forms
All electrically conductive materials allow EDM-ing of EDM notches:
- Steel, iron and stainless steel;
- Nickel alloys;
- Aluminium and aluminum alloys;
- Titanium, zirconium, tantalum;
- and many more…
Any shape is possible: straight, angled, concave of convex. Blind or through. Either in sheet metal, pipes, tubes, rings, gears or custom parts. Wire-edm, die sinking edm and small hole edm’ing are all techniques that are available. Depending on the shape and accuracy of the edm notches EDMnotch.com always chooses the cheapest appropriate machining method.
Non-destructive testing
The custom calibration blocks we EDM are used for non-destructive testing by various methods:
- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in various ways such as:
- Time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD)
- Phased Array (PA)
- Advanced Ultrasonic Testing (A-UT)
Weld inspection
For weld inspection we EDM small notches into custom calibration blocks. Our clients weld those blocks before shipment to our workshop. Clients use various methods for welding: SMAW, SAW, GMAW, FCAW to name a few. The indications can be machined in longitudal, transversal or any other direction – according to your specifications.
